Montezuma Youth Pride (MYP) is a church and community partnership offering supportive programming for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Montezuma County.
MYP offers weekly peer support groups for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and their allies in Towaoc, at Southwest Open School, and at Mancos Middle and High School for conversation, support, and community projects.
We also coordinate free field trips and educational opportunities for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and can provide support to youth who are have lost housing or need financial support to access basic necessities, educational resources, opportunities, or affirming care or experiences.
MYP is funded through community donations and grants. Our supportive partner organizations include the School Community Youth Collaborative (SCYC) and the Colorado Health Foundation.

Volunteer with MYP
MYP is always seeking dedicated community members to join our planning committee, and 2SLGBTQIA+ role models to serve as facilitators and chaperones for our programs! Our programs are largely volunteer run, but some small stipends are available for 2SLGBTQIA+ volunteers to make participation more accessible.
Facilitators are vetted and trained by St. Barnabas and attend additional trainings to support participants' safety, mental health, confidence, and joy.
If you'd like to get involved, email us at: montezumayouthprideoutreach@gmail.com.
